Top Fall Shoes Trends: Q's Confessions

It's my favorite time of year! Time for layering and wearing my kind of shoes...closed toe! Gives me a little break on the pedicure budget. The last post was also about shoes but what can I say I love to get "shoe wasted"! I'm quite partial to boots. I seem to buy several new pairs every year. What ever happened to two good classic pairs - one long and one short?? Well that thought clearly went out the window for me.   

Well, here we go. The top Fall shoe trends.  I've included a few of my favorites for each trend. Narrowing them down was a task in itself...there are so many that I love and want!

1.  Pointed Toe Shoes - This style is a bit hard on the toes but if you find the right fit it can be great.

2.  70s Styles - Chunky 70s styled shoes with an added touch of sophistication.

3.  Masculine Heels - Boyish looking styles with feminine flare. This trend includes one of my all time favorite styles -- lace ups. I just recently added the Mia Nanette pictured below to my collection and the Sabine is not far behind!

4.  Animal Prints - This trend is holding strong. You must be confident to pull this off right. The leopard print   is by far is my favorite.

The White Shirt Collection: Riding into Fall's Riding Boots!

Okay, Fall has officially started and we are still super excited about the awesome Fall Fashions.  One of our serious Fall obsessions is the riding boot. The riding boot not only looks luxurious but is super versatile.  The riding boot of course has a rich history of starting off in a more functional and technical manner with those in the horseback riding and farming world. This easily transitioned into the fashion world because of it's sleek leather look and durability.  The boots can be paired with leggings, jeans or even this year's sleeper hit the "Maxi Dress".  We love to pair them with a classic white button down shirt, leggings, a pair of pearls and a funky hat. We live for Fashion Week!!! The excitement, the designers and the atmosphere is unbelievable and the most exciting experience.  In the past if you couldn't make the trip to Fashion Week, you had to wait on pictures and reports to get the dish on the biggest fashion event in the country; now with the beautiful advances of technology you can watch a good percentage of Fashion Week right from your pc/tablet/smartphone. Almost all major designers are live streaming their shows, mini internet booths have been set up all over the place and  iPhone/Blackberry users are posting pictures almost every minute. The use of today's modern technology also helps current Fashion Week attendees view multiple shows at one time and has been a hit with the crowd. As you know, when Fashion Week Fall 2012 rolls around in February 2012, there will be as many tech trends as clothing trends and as many eager fashionistas looking to see the new fashions and latest technology. On Thursday, September 1st, we had the pleasure of attending the Fashionably Houston Launch party at Lot 8. Fashionably Houston is your source for all things fashion in Houston. Part of the Fashionably Connected family, Fashionably Houston is lead by the dynamic duo of Jaxon Entertainment , Cherise & Keith Luter.   Fashionably Houston plans to bring you the latest and greatest in up and coming designers, fashion events, product launches and more. The launch party was gorgeous, full of energy and of course,  fashion eye candy with the beautiful fashions of Lot 8. We're so excited they've landed in Houston. As the fashion years have progressed, the basic coat has become an essential fashion piece. The coat as we know it has taken on a whole new identity from standard outerwear to a simply amazing fashion piece. This Fall's runway collections are showing some beautifully tailored coats in great colors. Many can be worn as outerwear or as an actual piece on it's own. Long gone are the days of just a puffy jacket to keep us warm; we've seen some sleek chic coats pop up on the runways including the classic bomber, pea-coats, the toggle coat and the Chesterfield: a menswear coat for women. Now, if it only dropped 40 or 50 degrees in our beloved city of Houston, we would be ready, set, go! We've listed a few pictures of our favorite Fall outerwear. Bring on the chill!

While we definitely have our hands in the creative pot, we always look to the greats of fashion and beauty for a little inspiration.  One of the stylist we admire the most is the ever chic Rachel Zoe. As we received our email of The Zoe Report, Rachel's daily dose of style, we fell in love with today's posting of the 70's Maxi Dress. Known for it's free flowing loose fit and graphic designs, the maxi dress is a great lead into the Fall season. Best worn with ankle or mid length boots, this dress makes a statement all on it's own. Our favorite is the silk Emilio Pucci maxi dress featured in today's Zoe Report. Fall Fashion is here!!!

The White Shirt Collection: Preview of Fall, Top Three Trends

The Fall season is knocking right on Summer's door and so are the rich colorful Fall fashions. Since Houston is known for a Fall that actually starts off a little warmer than most places we have decided to give you a preview of the top three trends that will transition into Fall quite nicely.

Confession of the Collection Top 3 Fall Trends:

1. Menswear Suits ~ Fall season is where we see more fashionista's rocking suits and nothing screams power chic like a menswear suit with feminine touches. Choose either a fitted and sleek version or a loose but structured style.  Accent the suit with pearls, a fabulous handbag or a polished loafer with trimmed details.

2. Polka Dots ~ Polka Dots will be this Fall's stripes. The polka dot trend is a favorite because of its multi purpose effect of bringing color and a  pop of eclectic style to any outfit. Remember if you're wearing a polka dot outfit, keep shoes, handbags and accessories clean and sleek.

3. The Knee Length Dress ~  There's something about a knee length dress with boots or platform heels that simply says classic glamour! The Fall season will bring us knee length or just below the knee dresses in luxurious fabrics such as silk, chiffon and textured wool. Look for these longer length dresses to also have very intricate detailing and great use of color.
