Baubles & The Q Clique: 2011 Summer Nail Color Trends

It's officially the season for perfect pedicures and Confessions of the Collection is wild about this summer's scrumptious colors along with a couple of die hard classics. The season is forecasting  the following nail colors to be the top four shades of summer:

1. Royal Blue - Think a Caribbean Luxury vacation with blue waters;

The ever chic Ms. Jackson rocking a beautiful royal nail palette

2. Canary Yellow - This beautiful shade of bright yellow reminds us of citrus fruit salads and mouth watering  frozen cocktails;
Deborah Lippman's "Yellow Brick Road"

3. Beige/Natural Pinks -The barely there shades scream Uptown Socialite Chic and we love it! The Butter London Line is our favorite by far when it comes to beautiful beiges; and
Butter London's Hoorah Henry

4. Classic Red- There's a reason the beautiful crimson shade is still the #1 classic shade of all stylish fashionistas. Once again Butter London hits a home run with this perfect shade of red.

Butter London's Come To Bed Red

Our Confession: We are obsessed with the entire Butter London Line!

The White Shirt Collection: The Jocas Handbags Interview

Recently we had the esteemed pleasure of sitting down and having a fashionably good interview with the beautiful creative indie chic luxury brand Jocas Handbags! We had a great time and were really able to learn about the humble genius behind these gorgeous bags. Here's a snippet from the interview as Jocas Handbags talks to us about their "Pop-Up" Sample Sale starting this Friday, July 1, 2011.

The Collection:  Mrs. Henderson, it is so good to have you with us today.

Jocas Handbags: Thanks so much for having me, I’m honored

The Collection: When we heard about the “Pop-Up Sample Sale” we just had to find out more.  What is the “Pop-Up Sample Sale”?

Jocas Handbags:  For the month of July, Jocas will offer our most popular handbags for $148.  The Jocas team wanted to celebrate my birthday in a big why, so we gave it some thought and came up with this.  It’s a way to give a gift to every woman that desires to own a Jocas Handbag.

The Collection:  What is the normal retail price on your bags?

Jocas Handbags: The bags usually retail between $188 - $388.  A clutch bag will range from $128-$168.  The messengers and custom bags are on the higher end.

The Collection:  So this is a huge discount?

Jocas Handbags: Yes it is!  The goal is to provide every woman with the opportunity to have a “JOCAS EXPERIENCE”.  The only way we could share this gift is by giving a huge discount.

The Collection: And what is the “JOCAS EXPERIENCE”?

Jocas Handbags: The “JOCAS EXPERIENCE” is when you carry a Jocas Handbag and people are commenting on your bag everywhere you go.  They ask to touch it, hold it and where you got it.  That’s the “JOCAS EXPERIENCE”!

The Collection: What else can we look forward to from Jocas?

Jocas Handbags: After the “Pop-Up Sample Sale”, the brand will launch the Fall/Winter line and roll out more projects we have on the design table right now.

The Collection: Lastly, where can interested clients find Jocas Handbags?

Jocas Handbags:  We will be popping up all over the place in the coming months.  But for now, www.jocashandbags.com is the best place to see the collection and upcoming events.

The Collection: Thank you for your time and best wishes on the Pop-Up Sample Sale!

Baubles & The Q Clique: Sunglasses in the City

Sunglasses are the universal summer accessory that you just can't live without.  We're obsessed with them; they come in every shape, size and color! Sunglasses are the one accessory that instantly take your outfit up a knotch adding chic style and a bit of mystery to your look. Not all sunglasses are created equal for each face so we decided to give a few style tips on which styles and shapes fit the four face shapes and what the current sunglasses trends are.

Sunglasses Shapes for The Face:

Heart shaped face structures look best with narrow round frames that are bottom heavy and have low set temples to draw the attention downward and balance out your face.

Round shaped face structures look best with angular and geometric frames that sharpen facial features. Rectangular and horizontal styles glasses make the face appear thinner and longer.

Square shaped face structures look best with oval and round frames. Glasses with temples that are center set or that connect at the top of the frame and are butterfly shaped are also great on this face shape.

Oval shaped face structures are he most balanced of all face shapes. Most frame shapes work with oval faces. Square, rectangular and geometric shapes which add angles to soft curves are great looks also with this face shape.

2011 Sun Shades Trends:

The summer clothing trend is bare, cool and sleek so you can add in a little more exaggeration with your sunglasses. Trends we're seeing are anything retro or vintage like 1960's Ray-Ban's, cat-shaped frames,  and classic silhouettes with unexpected color frames like colbat blue and the timeless Jackie O. We've also seen frames studded with crystals, wrap around shield frames and big splashy logos sunglasses. Last but not least sunglasses also protect eyes from the harsh sun...so shade up in style and let's get ready for summer!

The White Shirt Collection: Pajama Dressing, the Sleeper Trend Hit!

Guess who's back? The return of pajama dressing, so Marlene Dietrich and we love it! While this look can translate to super, sultry, cool, it has to be pulled together in just the right way. The look should be sexy yet structured, with impeccable tailoring. When the pajama look is done right, your overall appearance should say comfortable, elegant, chic, not "I just rolled out of bed with my PJ's on" and it's also definitely not a lingerie look which can come off as trashy.  Creating this look is pretty easy if you stick to the "PJ's as Style" rules, here goes:
  • High end fabric are a must when creating the pajama look, such as glossy skin-soft silks or satins
  • Stick with the basics> shirts, shorts and trousers. These basics will also help keep the sexy yet tailored element to the look
  • Pretty neutrals such a beiges, grays, whites and blacks work well for colors and are effortlessly timeless.
  • Pair the pajama shirts with pencil skirts or full ball gowns. Pair the trousers or shorts with a really nice fitted structured top  and then add a strand of pearls to really take it up a notch.
We hope these tips help on your journey to silky smooth pajama dressing.
Our Confession: Silk Pajama pants with a fitted tank and fedora and a really cool pair of wedges!
